Content Checked Holdings, Inc. (CNCK) apps offer a unique mobile experience that analyzes more than 70% of all food products in the United States to check if they fit the specific dietary needs of the user. The process is based upon more than algorithms – it utilizes a dedicated team of nutritional experts that validate data against the most up-to-date research to ensure quality. This process is done 24/7 and is constantly undergoing review so that the app can provide as accurate information as possible with each use.
Content Checked has very healthy financials. As a new company CNCK has had about $1M in revenue in the past 12 months and a very low burn rate. They did a friendly debt finance a couple of months ago for $4.5M. In addition, the last financials released by the company show them as cash flow positive with a substantial cash reserve.
The valuation for the company is currently based on revenue and projected revenue rather than actual users.
Content Checked currently has 2M+ users and they’re now starting to see revenues building from producer ads. Most apps don’t have revenues so they’re valued based on users whereas CNCK has revenues so that is used as the basis of valuation. The ContentChecked line of apps captures an unprecedented level of detailed data about its users (contributed voluntarily) such as geographic location, dietary needs, shopping patterns, etc. For comparison purposes apps like SnapChat which have yet to generate revenues are valued at around $70 per user. Some analysts have said since the ContentChecked database is newer that it would be valued around $35 per user, still a substantial sum considering the 2M+ user base.
